ITMO University supports its’ employees efforts to increase their proficiency levels through participation in professional development programs aimed at improving existing skills or acquiring new ones. Such endeavors can be done both in Russia and abroad individually or as a group, and may include lectures, seminars, practical classes, group and individual consultations, individual work, projects, etc. Professional development programs may be implemented using remote education technology. The topics and goals of professional development are selected according to ITMO University’s strategic goals for development for the current year.
Mandatory requirements for candidates include: employment at ITMO University as their primary place of employment, a period of service at ITMO of at least one year, and a at least an Upper Intermediate English language proficiency level (when participating in professional development programs abroad).
The plan, length, location and country of training are decided on by supervisors of progressional development programs, heads of structural units and participants of the programs.
Participating staff are reimbursed expenses related to training, travel, accommodation, visa, medical insurance and per diem.
After receiving approval from the head of their structural unit, employees can submit an application using the Professional Development and Internships section of ISU. Applications are submitted throughout the year. However, since funding is included in the budget at the start of each year, it is advised to submit applications in advance.
